Meet the captivating Hoya 'Rebecca' - a cross between Hoya Lacunosa 'Langkawi Island' and H. Obscura that is sure to become a prized possession in any plant collection. This exceptional hybrid is a true gem, with a reputation for being both easy to care for and a fast grower that blooms readily once established.

The pointed oval leaves of the Hoya 'Rebecca' are a lush green color with lighter veins that create an eye-catching contrast. In bright light, the leaves take on a gorgeous reddish hue, while the veins remain a vibrant light green.

When in bloom, this Hoya produces stunning umbels of 20 or more fuzzy pink flowers with golden yellow coronas that emit a delightfully sweet fragrance.

This cross happened in Antone Jone’s old nursery, Spring Valley Tropicals back in 2007 or 2008. It has a sister pod Hoya named ‘Rachel’.

Care Needs

Bright diffused light

Recreate conditions under a tree canopy, where plants receive lots of light, but it is filtered through the foliage of the trees above. Your light should be bright enough to cast soft shadows.

Low Humidity: Ideally Above 40%

This Hoya tolerates a drier environment. However, it could still benefit from light humidity care, including misting and grouping together with other houseplants. May require humidifier in cooler, drier months.

Loves Heat: Lowest 70F/21C

This hoya does not do well in cold conditions, so be sure to keep in a greenhouse or other temperature controlled space.

Does Sunstress

This plant has evolved to shift color when exposed to bright sunlight, much like a human getting a tan. This does not harm the plant with proper care.
