Hoya 'Michele' (MB1255) is a crossbreed of Hoya verticilata (Laos) and variegated Hoya acuta, developed by Mark Bernardo. It pays homage to Michele Rodda, the accomplished Italian botanist who dedicated herself to the exploration and documentation of various Hoya species.

This specific cultivar exhibits remarkable growth speed. When grown in dimmer light conditions, the leaves assume a rich, deep green hue and noticeable size. Its striking raised veining and occasional splashing add to its allure. Be mindful that Hoya 'Michele' (MB1255) is sensitive to intense heat and bright surroundings, and it is susceptible to oedema—a condition resulting in dark blemishes caused by burst leaf cells. Additionally, it dislikes prolonged periods of drought. Should you receive a Hoya 'Michele' (MB1255) with dark spots, rest assured that it is a normal occurrence with no impact on the plant's health.

While some might mistakenly pronounce it as "Michelle," the correct pronunciation for this plant is "Mi-Ke-Le."
